How come Google decided to change their logo to Charles Darwin's birthday, instead of Abraham Lincoln's?

Today is the 200th birthday of our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. It also is the 200th birthday of Charles Darwin.

I don't understand why they would put up something about Charles Darwin's birthday instead of the sixteenth President of the United Sates of America?

You will see it here: www.google.com

If you move your cursor over the logo it will say %26quot;Charles Darwin's 200th birthday%26quot;.

Thanks.

I guess it was up to them, and they felt as if Darwin was the way to go. Maybe because they thought Darwin had more of an impact worldwide than Lincoln did.
